Department of Zoology
Department of Zoology was established in the year 2003, with an enrolment of 45 students with CBZ( Chemistry, Biotech & Zoology) combination in the B.Sc under graduate courses.Even since its inception, the department has come a long way in terms of students strength, result and other departmental achievements.The department is in coordination with other department like Botany and chemistry.The sincere and dedicated staff of our teaching faculty is the core of our department.
They guide the students in achieving academic excellence & improving their overall personality by taking regular classes& labs along with special care to the slow learners by conducting remedial classes.
Aims and Objectives
*To develop the department into a centre of excellence impacting quality education in the field of science.
*To provide number of specializations because of which the students are presented with plethora of career options once they choose to be associated with this field.
*This field is concerned with preservation and management of animal kingdom and a career in it would mean that you as a part of that responsibility.

V1:To provide a sound education in basic science & to inculcate high values through a liberal education.
V2:To promote research and learning at the PG level and beyond to perpetuate value based education favorable for the progress of students and society so as to promote peace and harmony.
Mission
M1:To impart knowledge is the basic aim of education the students are expected to acquire the knowledge of animal science, natural phenomenon, manipulation of nature & environment by human.
M2:Understanding the scientific terms, concepts and phenomenon in Zoology.
M3:To develop skills in performing laboratory experiments.
M4:To develop ability to apply scientific methods, collection of scientific data and organizing science exhibition.
M5:To develop research attitude through investigatory projects among students.
Program Outcomes PO's
PO1:To Provide knowledge of various animals from primitive to highly evolved form and its complexity.
PO2:Gain Knowledge of anatomical structure and various metabolic functions of organisms.
PO3:The Curriculum helps to enhance the ability and thinking power of students.
PO4:Information and skill of advanced biological techniques for experimental purposes.
PO5:Information and skills of applied zoology including sericulture, apiculture, fisheries, poultry, vermiculture, agricultural pests and their control.
PO6:To Equip students with laboratory skills as well as field based studies to become an successful entrepreneur.
